Burton G. Schauf, DVM is a native Kansan and a graduate of Kansas State University.  After  practicing   for a short time in Kansas, Dr. Schauf and his wife, Colette, moved to Columbia in the spring of 1983.  Their son Cory, born in the fall of 1984, is indeed a true Columbia native.  Stormy (the wonder dog) and Chino (the curious feline) share the Schauf home.

Dwayne L. Miller, DVM received his veterinary degree in 1986 locally at the University of Missouri.  He spent 8 years in Las Vegas, NV (where he grew up) at a 4-doctor hospital where he acquired a special interest in Ultrasound diagnostics.  His wife, Beverly, a Marshall, MO native, and his two children, Jennifer and Spencer, accompanied him in his move to Columbia in November 1994.   Dr. Miller enjoys staying in shape by participating in triathlons and by doing long distance bike rides and marathons.  Special veterinary interests include:   Radiology (ultrasound), Internal Medicine, and soft tissue surgery.

Bruce Baker is co-owner and hospital manager of Pet Center.  Bruce has lived in Columbia since 1977 and went into joint venture of Pet Center with Dr. Schauf in 1989.  Bruce's immediate family consists of his wife Lynda (an elementary school teacher), daughters Kayle and Olivia, and Nutmeg (the house cat and co-ruler).  Daisy is the pet Labrador Retriever who spends a fair amount of time as hospital mascot and front door greeter!  Bruce enjoys golfing and fishing when there is simply nothing else to do!  

Lydia Kennon is our certified veterinary technician.  she graduated in 1996 from the University of Cincinnati.  Lydia and her husband, Will, moved to Missouri from Ohio.   She had worked in Cincinnati for a veterinarian since 1993.  Prior to that, Lydia attended a year of Bible College in Dubuque, IA.  She and her husband enjoy traveling and outdoor activities.

Daisy is our underpaid greeter who is content to "work for food!"
